My girl and I went to he Bass pro store to pick up some gear That my life depended on yesterday evening, It was the first time I had ventured there. The reason Im telling you guys all this is they have the state record catfish in their fish tank. I did see the fish and the fella who caught it in the news paper awile back. that fish is something to see up close! I guess its over 65 or 68lbs. Just plain massive! If you live nearby enough To take a peak at this monster its worth the trip. Also if you have to bribe the lady of the house to go with you there is a TON of other stores conected so she can shop while you max out your credit cards getting life supporting fishing gear and she will never know.:)

I was there friday night buying a new Abu 6501 C3, I tossed it on Saturday and what a difference from the old ones. I couldn't blow it up even after I took 4 out of the 6 brakes out

I have been doing some practice casting at the Forest Hill Rec. center. As long as nobody is up there. I tried to go on Sat. but they were working on the ball fields... I am going to give it a go for an hour or tow after work today.

I will break that record this year with 70lbs of catfish and will soon be in that tank...
That is my plan and I can only fail not to have a plan.

Talking about giant cats does anyone remember the television show from one of the southern states about the guys who would jump in the river and wrestle the large catfish out by hand.I believe it was Georgia:confused:

Yes, You mean the guy that stuck his hand in their mouth and yanked them in? It's been quite a while since I have heard or seen of him. But I must say seeing the state record fish in the news paper verses watching it swim in front of you sure gave me a new perspective on how incredible a catfish gen get.

The catfish grabbin' is called noodling. They even have noodling championships. It says it in Maxim, so it must be true.

Ran over to BPS at lunch today to pick up a few things, and took a look at the kitty while I was there. Usually ignore the fish tank but I looked this time because of this thread.
That is one impressive fish. Was up on the glass and checking me out. Eye was moving up and down like he was sizing up whether he could swallow me whole or not. :D
Bet he was a blast to bring in. :)
Feel sorry for him though. He should be swimming a river somewhere, not in a fish tank. :(
