A very good friend of mine is headed to his home country of Norway for a week. Whenever he goes he asks me if there is anything I'd like him to pick up for me. So, what reels are likely available in Norway that I couldn't just buy here?

that you can in Norway, by mail order; the only difference would the price. But with the US $$$ at an all time low, the exchange rate might hurt you.

The Daiwa Millionaire 7ht Turbo, And The Penn 525 Supermag Extra. I Think Those Are The Hottest Reels Going In Europe. ;)

Can't get that one here. It's a shame too. I tried. I even had Val at Rodias Bait & Tackle try for me. She had some of Penn's big wigs on speed dial. I sent them pictures of the reel and all, no dice. The only way to get them was on E-Bay and I don't do e-bay anymore. Had way too many problems with them.

Maybe Penn's Big Wigged Personnel Can Explain Why The Nob That's Displayed On The 525 Supermag Extra Is Different From The One That's Sold To The Customer. In My Own Opinion, The One That's Sold Looks Like A Homemade Job. I Was About To Purchase The Reel Until I Checked Various Uk Websites.

Yes,

The Links Are: Gerrysfishing.com, And Veals Tackle I Think. Both Are Uk Tackle Shops

For spinning, the granddaddy of long distance spinning is the Shimano Aero Technium 10000 XT....although it's made by Shimano, it's only available in Europe........If you contact a Japanese reel firm that handles Shimano (and I"ve contacted several), they say they've never heard of it........It's available only in Europe...several UK shops offer same...but it's expensive.......

I'd think you could get some of the European only reels shipped in using ebay europe. Norway is a very pricey (but beautiful) country with the high taxes of a typical socialist government. I lived there for 4.5 years and let me tell you shipping something bought in Europe elsewhere could be cheaper.

That's Exactly What I Am Speaking Of Seajay. The One That's Sold To The Customer Is The One That's Sold By Veals.

Nomadfl- I couldn't get the 60 or 70 from Neil.
I believe that they were more expensive than the newer 750 model that Veals sells. If something isn't correct, the reel needs to be return it to Penn uk for parts. The box will list some authorized American places for the reel to be fixed but no one on this side has the exploded view of the reel much less the parts.
I like the reel better than I do my HDX. the butt section is just tooo long for my comfi in a spinner.
