Yes I am a touron, but love to fish for pompano off the pier. I promise I am a good fisherman, don't cause any trouble or get in anybody's way. Just have a quick question, how line shy are pompano. I was thinking of using 10lb power pro line this season. Would this be a problem? I am strictly a jig fisherman. Thanks for your help.

this sounds good but I would add 3'-4' of 15# flouro on top of that just as a precaution (if you are in clear water) if the waters murky the line itself should be fine. :)

what color line were planning on using?

If this is true you aren't a touron.

To your question, pomps aren't especially line shy but I would use a mono leader or flourocarbon if the water is especially clear.

You are fishing too light.
For jigging pompano, you should switch to a 50# stand up rod with a 9/0 reel. 100lb mono running line with 480lb mono leader.
That should help you in case they run towards the pilings.....
:D :D :D
Seriously, clear water = fluro leader, not so clear water - straight pp.
GOOD LUCK
