Fingers and Claws Resataurant - Gaithersburg:

Who says I can't get some free advertising :D

Seriously though, being in the business, a place I like to take my family for special events and such:

Amichi's (Little Italy-Baltimore) - They have one of the most original and good tasting appetizers I've had. Used to be a favorite when I was in school, now I can actually afford to order a soda with dinner, and not just water :D

If I am ever in Gaithersburg I will look your
place up.;)

I'll just show up and say I know the owner :D

Okim, I think Summit Station is closed, at least that was what was on the grapevine. It's something else right now, don't know what, but that area has gone to chit.

Talapia, if you like Korean, check out Woo Mi Garden (sp) off Georgia Avenue in Wheaton. Good "Galbi" and "Nangmyun" combo, a little pricey, but sometimes you just gotta have it.

The entire Silver Spring/Rockville area
is a treasure trove of good eating.
Just a lil bit far for my casual dinning
though.

I have to agree with BB on the Chipotle's. Definitely the best mexican place I have been too. It is cafeteria style but it rocks.

Oriental Manor, Pho Dat Than, I can't add much more to what has been listed above except the following:

1) Bay Country Chicken (formerly English's Chicken) Just order the chicken NOTHING else. The chicken is kettle fried with Old Bay seasoning ... definitely a must try for great fried chicken. Just off of 13 N (Salisbury Bypass in Salisbury next to the mall)

2) Penang (Bethesda) I have not eaten at this location but have been to one in NJ. It is a mix of Asian pacific cuisine. First time I had fish head soup was there. I think my wife (soon to be at that time) was testing my intestinal fortitude.

3) My house. Great filipino cuisine adorned with her additions from the US. Basically whatever she cooks ROCKS!

I'm not too familiar with Glen Burnie. A friend of mine recommended them when I went there. I believe Crain Hwy is Rt3 and Ritchie(Rt2) is one block over. Price is usual Korean Restaurant level and the flavor is good. But the service may be a bit slow/dim at times.

Lotte Plaza, HMart on RT40 and BeSeTo (same plaza as HMart) are the three places are I go for some quick, cheap Korean food. I just don't like parking in the Lotte shopping center. Too many old Korean people not paying attention and dinging my car.

Silver Dragon has Jja Jang Myun for ~$6. It's ok. Just go a couple of miles west on Rt40, just after the Home Depot.

talapia, if you want to load up on korean barbecue and sushi, make a trip over to Annandale, VA and go to Il Mee. Its all you can eat short ribs, ribeye(bulgogi), pork, chiken, sushi. Overall, their food is average to good but its cheap compared other alternatives.

I've been there a few times. They're pretty good. Just don't eat there go out afterward, because you'll be smelling Korean BBQ the whole nite long. I still love NTKG's mom bulgogi though. Lettuce, rice, scallions soaked in sesame seed oil, and a sliced of bulgogi. umm mmm good. She prolly put some crack in them things, I can't seem to stop myself from eating 'em. :D

I used to think so too. Even Chevy's Fresh Mex used to be on my list ... then I did a direct compare between Chipotle, Chevy's and Baja Fresh using their carnitas (pork) dish. Chipotle beat them all hands down. (Had to settle an argument over the best Mex recently. One comparison taste and the argument was won.) Mmm... research. *burp*

Consider that a challenge. :p

I don't do the burritto anymore either. Chipotle will serve it to you in a bowl. You get more that way too. :p

Try the carnitas with one scoop of green and one of red... or two red if you like it toasty. I like the green too cuz its got tomatillos in it.

Ah geez... all this food talk... guess I know where I'll be stopping on the way home. :D

i rarely go out to eat anymore. i hire my mom to bring me food for $400 a week, since she retire recently. home cooking is the best. there was time in my life, when i went to restaurant for 2 meals a day.(korean) after awhile, everything starts to taste the same. with all the msg they use, it is not good for you. :) seriously, if you go to any korean restaurant for every meal for awhile, everything on the menu will start to taste the same.

Dude, are you kidding me right now? I specifically ask to have MSG :D If you ain't thirsty after the meal, then it means you didn't get enough MSG in it. Something about asian food and no MSG doesn't sit right with me. It really does make the food taste better. My dad always jokes around and says if you add MSG to water, you got soup.

BTW, we don't use MSG at Fingers and Claws, seriously. I had to look at every F'in label on every single case of food, condiment, spice, etc. b/c a customer called and said he was coming in and if there was any MSG in the food, he would die  I chit you not, it took almost all afternoon, and when he did come in, he didn't thank me for checking. I should have just sent him to the chinese place next door. :D

MSG...mmm mmmm good. I eat what taste
good to me. Life is too short to worry about
all the food that can kill ya.;)

I have started going to Bull on the Beach
at OC for BBQ sandwiches...they are
outstanding!
