does any one know what the requirement to do electrical work under a contractor as an employee for a private manufactuar is ?:confused:

contractor rules...not sure of your question...you work for the contractor but abide by the owners rules...

It really depends on what type of electrical work you are doing.As an example at Norfolk Naval Shipyard you might be hired based on experiance and not required to hold a journeymans card because of the nature of the work. Most manafacturing companies would only require the elecrical knowledge to perform the work necessay to create the product based on their own requirerments and the applicable UL regulations.
On the other hand In order to lead work governed by the NEC one would have to hold at a minimum a journeymans card. People working for Westing House or GE don't need a journeymans card to build toasters.
