FORREST CITY, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas State Police trooper suspected monkey business when he spotted a large stuffed animal perched atop the dashboard of a pickup truck on the interstate.

A trooper driving down Interstate 40 near Forrest City on Monday spotted a truck with much of its windshield blocked by a large, stuffed monkey, authorities said. When the trooper pulled over the driver, he could smell what he suspected to be marijuana and he searched the vehicle, police said.

Police said the trooper found more than 2,100 hydrocodone pills, 70 Xanax pills and 85 Soma pills.

The driver, Tonya Rachelle Garner, 35, and passenger, Dennis Ray Garner, 34, both of Willis, Texas, were each charged with several counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Tonya Garner also faces a charge of driving with an obstructed view.

The pair is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in St. Francis County District Court.

Understood RD- but still sounds fishy- Not taking the idiots side- just making a point- if no weed found and they don't test positive on a drug test for weed- makes the claim of smelling weed pretty weak excuse for a search.

If the officer was smart, he would of charged them with dangerous driving because of the obstruction of their view caused by the monkey. Why would anyone be smoking weed with all those pill around:confused:

You guys are missing the point . Who would be stupid enough to drive around with all that dope in the car with a FRIGGIN' MONKEY on the hood ? DUH !:confused: I would think that alone would be cause to think they were up to "Monkey Busines" . :rolleyes::D

Read your first post- monkey was sitting on the inside - atop the dashboard- most likely on the passenger side - seems obvious they were "high" on their own supply :D :D
