I've seen em work when nothing else will. It's basically a slightly beefed up sabiki rig. Tie 'em yourself with fluoro and gold hooks. Also using drinking straws cut into small pieces and threaded on the hooks can work. Try the mcdonalds ones w/ the red stripe on the side. Tie a diamond jig to the bottom for your weight and you're good to go.

Yup, or just go to walmart and buy some there if you don't have the time. Don't buy them at the pier unless you have to. The ones I've seen at the piers go for about $4 when you can get them for $1.50 at the Mart....The one thing I will stress is use a LONG ROD. When I first started jigging I used a short 8' rod and caught nothing at all. Someone saw my 11' rod and told me I should use that. Well, getting a little further out from the pilings did the trick. I started getting bites then before you know it, I had my Daiwa Eliminator 15' rod out there and was getting even more action. When I go to the piers in SC now, thats just about all I do. Even on a slow day you're going to catch some small blues (which makes the king fishers happy) everyone uses them for bait. I've caught Spanish up to 22" from a Mackerel Jig before (may be good, may be small to some people, but for the time being, I only get down there to fish once a year)

Real quick... Take a length of 30-50lbs. line and put anywhere from 4-7 dropper loops in the line... On the loops use long shank gold hooks w/ pieces of straw slid over the shank.... Coffee stirrers work well, as do the multi-colored Slurpee straws... To give the rig some flash and casting ability, tie a Stingsilver or other similiar jig to the end of the line.. 2-4oz. then put her over and get to jiggin'!!!:D

I dont see why not, but just remember you're going to have all those extra hooks dangling around when you go to land a fish.
