FYI.
Did some research on the subject and I ended up making a sand flea house described in this article. (http://amelia-island-fishing.com/fishing/articles/sand%20flea%20holder.cfm)
$2 and a drill bit.
It worked really well. Kept it in the ice chest and the fleas were still real frisky after being in there all day. :)

That is sort of like something I made after seeing a guy on Kure pier have a setup very similar. I did smaller holes and do add a little sand, but have a tupperware container underneath to keep sand out of the cooler. Don't know why I still add sand, just habit I guess.

Looks intresting I'll have to try it. I just always used a 32 oz Styrofoam cup with water and sand and it worked just fine.
Oh I believe that is Surf Fish's site. He does have some good stuff there.

I saw that link posted on here last year and made one of those rigs for my October trip (mullet fest). I dug some sand fleas the first night and kept them in my home made flea keeper for four days. Just kept them in the cooler, and rinsed them with sea water a couple times a day.
