A freind of mine put this link up on "another board" on the net... I've seen you folks ask about the pluses and minuses of flouro on here before, figured this might be of help.. :)

I like the graph that was made up in this article as well,it's pluses and minuses of all the different lines out today...

Surf Fish I hear ya. I tried Vanish when it came out and found I liked 17-20 for a "Shock leader" on my schoolie rod since I fish on and in rocks. But it sucked for fishing line, way too much memory. Now I recently loaded a reel with P-Line Flouroclear which is Flourocarbon coated and I like it so far(heck it was free). But in clear water conditions I use the leader and it is tough.

My own experience with fluorocarbon has been good. I don't have a reel fully spooled with it yet, but for leaders it's awesome. I've found that when albies are running a fluorocarbon leader tied directly to a spoon seems to produce better then steel or other nylon/braid leaders. I think it's because ablies see so well. Same with spanish, pompano, any 20/20 fish. I say all that based on using it from surf, boat, and amongst crowds. That being said I don't use it on my large heavers, but have started using it on just about every other application a leader is involved. I can see in clear water where your main line may need to be more invisible, but the muddy Kure beach area up to Kitty Hawk's greenish blue water I fish I think it's not as necessary. All though I've seen some clear water on Ocracoke in the summer. The best part really is one more line to use in a specialty situation if the characteristics appeal to you.

When I read a review of a product, for some reason the first thing I think about is the credibility of the reviewer.

Of course Mr. Fishing Pro is going to tell me that Blabla boats are the best boat around; Blabla boats gives Mr. Fishing Pro a free boat every six months and PAYS him to tell me that Blabla boats are the best boats around.

A review of a product by someone who is A) getting paid to use the product or B) selling the product carries very little credibility in my book.

Ever walked into a Ford dealer and had a Ford salesman tell you that Fords suck, you should go buy a Toyota?

You know,I agree with ya.. Haven't seen ANY OTHER reviews to pick from though and thought folks might want to see this one... If'n ya don't like the review,ya ain't gotta read it..

I just got done reading the article.

And I'm glad I did.

Might even read it again.

The reviewer wasn't pitchin' a product at all.

Just good info on flouro.

I can't see spoolin' 300 yards of floruo on my reels yet. Maybe when the cost comes down to a reasonable price.

Kenny, Jam's got me thinkin' of using 3' of 100lb flouro on my Nigerian rigs. ;)
