I am getting a Stradic 5000 to throw 2 and 3oz lures.
I have heard alot of good stuff on braid.
Does it really thow better than mono.
Normaly I would put 8lb suffix on this set up.
Would Braid give me better distance if so which brand, i have not used braid much.

I have mine full of 30lb Power Pro. Anything less than that, I have found cuts the uni to uni knot that I use to join a flourocarbon leader.

Braid, when spooled on properly, manually shut bail down after each cast (this becomes second nature with time),it will cast further..
I use fireline, and have had great success with it.. No doubt there are other braids out there and most are good, even gave the suffix a try, works great.. Also have heard some really good reviews on PP and the Diawa line that was mentioned by an earlier poster..
IMO,braid is the only thing to use on a spinner. It last 10 times longer than mono (makes it well worth the $). The sensitivity of all the braids is something you have to experience to believe. Have never used mono on a spinner since I started using braid when Fireline first came out,and haven't looked back..
In answer to your question,20lb test 8 diameter fireline would be my suggestion..

for Suffix 14 #. I've caught lots of puppy drum on this setup and I use 17/20 on my Stradic 8000
I now own 4 Stradics and am enjoying all of them...they are smooth operators.
