Tackle stores in New York

Hi All,

first time posting,congrats on a great site! I'm looking for some advice on where the best tackle shops are in New York? My girlfriend travels over every few weeks and if I could tell her where to go she could bring back some goodies.
The general area she stays in is 51st street on 7th avenue,

Welcome to the board!! I use to live in NYC for 35years before relocating to North Carolina. The only tackle that I know of that is close to where your friend is staying is called Capitol Fishing Tackle 132 w.36th st. between 7th & Broadway. You didn't mentioned what kind of species you are targeting or whether you are fishing from the surf, pier or boat.
