I got my HDX a few weeks ago and notice when putting the tow pieces together that they don't fit completely. I have about 1/2 gap in the furnal. Is it supposed to be like that ????

Yep. I got the LDX and when that happened, I freaked out and called Nick at Breakaway himself. He told me that that's how they're designed and meant to me. He then told me something technical about why that was better, but I neither understood nor remember what he said.

Spigot ferrule; supposedly stronger than the usual tip over butt type ferrules. :)

I went through the same thing until a spigot ferrule was explained to me. I have almost 3/4 inches on mine but it works okay.

The spigot is meant to be like that, in time it will wear in and the gap will get shorter. Its the fit what counts, if its nice and thight and doesnt "tick" when you shake the rod, then its the way it should be.
