Can a rod (Coniflex Gambit) spigot be replaced after it has been worn down from use and both halves are almost touching and if so what would be the proper way to do so.

Yes, a spigot joint can be replaced. Sometimes, judicious application of heat will loosen the glue and allow you to remove the plug. Sometimes, it is necessary to cut the rod. (Last resort0

You can also cut the plug, grind it down flush , then drill a small hole in the center, then, using a dremel tool or similar, grind the plug flush with the rod wall.

The final stages of this should be done with a fine toothed rat-tailed file or reamer. Then put in a new plug and you're back in business.

Very similar to a cat eating grinding rock; very very slowly. BR
