Well, beef has hormones and e coli, pork can have trichnosis, chicken can have salmonella, raw vegetables can have hepatitis due to unclean washing water, tofu imported from China can be slightly toxic, and water has heavy metals. What's a person to do? :p

It's funny, I've read that article before and other people saying don't eat Bluefish. I kinda threw it to the side and said eh whatever. Couple weeks ago I was flying back down to Orlando and someone left a TIME magazine in the seat pocket. I started flipping through it after I got through my stack of fishing magazine's and found a very interesting article.

Here is the article taken from TIME Magazine December 4, 2006 found on page 79.

Fish

People seeking the heart protective powers of omega-3 fatty acids in fish have been warned about the mercury dixoins and PCBS that they might be consuming with thier meal. But a study from the Harvard School of Public Health showed that while those contaminants pose a danger, particulary for women of childbearing age, for most people the benefits of fish outweigh the risks. Eat modest servings of fish each week-particularly salmon and bluefish- and you may reduce your coronary heart disease 36%. Elsewhere, researchers at Louisiana State University reported that omega-3s can help protect cells in the retina, showing the damage caused by such blinding diseases as retinitis pigmentosa and macular degeneration.

So I'll still continue eating bluefish and other fish. I don't each fish a lot, usually 3-4 times a month. So I think I'll be ok.

Live by the motto ... "What does not kill you will make you stronger !"

We (as humans ) are meant to eat meat, vegetables, fruits, etc. It is most likely our own damn fault that we are poisoning our own food supplies (if that is really the case). If so lets treat the god@$@# problem instead of the frickin' symptoms for a change!!!!

MAKE THE WATERS SAFER FOR OUR FOOD !!!!

This is an eco site. Food consumption warnings are a tool they use.

As a former microbiologist, I can tell you that eating raw organic fruits and vegetables can be hazardous to you health because they might contain bacteria

Now french fries on the other hand are well cooked and good for you.:D
