*****, who works as a supervisor for corp, bought a rod from me in april promising to pay me $150.00 a week later. a month later at the casting tournemant in shallote he again promised me payment that friday. its been 3 months now with not so much as a phone call or return of the rod.
several people on this board know of the transaction and know david. i have left messages with the gate guard at stilh, as you can't get in unles you work there.
i think what gets me the most is this is a fisherman, so called, and we as fisherman are a group that are pretty honest and forthcoming with each other.
david this is the last chance and i really hate to have to resort to these tactics. if i dont receive the money you owe or the rod back by sunday i will file a claim in court and not only will you pay for the rod but court costs also.
if you know this person and want to PM me i would be grateful and not mention your name.
again sorry to have to do this this way but to me this is stealing.

The laws where you live, but here in NJ you could sign charges for theft. If he paid you part of the money and not the rest it would a civil matter. But since he has not paid you at all and took the rod, that's theft. have you contacted you local PD? Can't hurt to see what they say.

Good luck on getting your money. He should have at least given the rod back if he did not have the money. It is a shame that a fisherman tries to screw another fisherman.
My first thought was maybe he had an unexpected bill to come up and you should work with him but he should have come out and told you. But, now it looks like he just don't want to pay you.
Good luck man!!

I agree with RuddeDog on this one. However I would draft a letter to David stating your intentions to notify the Police concerning this matter. Send a copy to his home address (if you have it) and his work address. In the letter you may also want to indicate that your current employer will also be notified of charges about to be brought against you.
Most people need to protect their livelyhood so you may call him out on this. Give him a week or two to respond then you should report the matter to the police.
Three months and several promises by him to pay is a very generous effort on your part to be understanding. Some people are just cowards and thieves and you need to deal with them appropriately.

Be sure to send it registered mail so you know he receives it. Make sure he has to sign for it and acknowledges receipt. If he doesn't do anything at that point, file charges for theft at the police department.

i see the the P&S admin has seen fit to adjust my text to their liking. i found no rules on this forum that states that you can't use peoples real names, sounds like censorship to me.

Your thread was edited because you gave the name and employer of a person you claim hasn't paid you for a rod. Personal beefs that have nothing to do with the site have no business on here.
Had you bought through one of the boards on P&S, I could do something about it. But this was a transaction that had nothing to do with the site.
The Terms of Service (http://pierandsurf.com/tos.shtml) are quite clear about libel. I feel for you, but I will not allow these kinds of posts on here. You need to take legal action against this guy.
