I'm reading between the lines, and bwuahahahahaha:D

Trigger grip and roller tip are definitely a must for that setup, just need some #40 hi-vis mono on there and we're good to go. Sort of...

First of all, your subject is completely cut off at the chin. You need to learn to leave some headroom on your shots.

Secondly, you totally missed the rule of thirds. It's more like rule of "a third off of the page" or of "I've had too much of a fifth."

Then there is the flatness of the lighting. For someone who . . . uh . . . is a bit rounder, you want to bring the light from the side a bit to give them a thinner look. You may as well put this picture on his driver's license.

Speaking of lighting, you could have dragged the shutter after the flash to bring in some warm ambient light.

Try to avoid lettering or a very busy shirt. It takes the focus away from the face of the portrait. You should have also seen that wet spot on the shirt.

Color balance is unacceptable. Right hand is pink while the left is yellow/tan.

That thing in the subjects hand is hard to see. Maybe a bit of dodging in that area would have lightened up the dark object.

You may also want to try to burn in that line of lights on the top left. They are a bit distracting.

nice okim... when I first saw gc holding it like that, I was like  , then he explained that he usually reel in with his left and hold the rod with his right hand. He was using my rod and I have it setup the "correct" way... heehee...
