Say you won some money in the lottery (no I did not this is just hypothetical) and you wanted a place on the water. Your ideal states where Delaware, MD, VA and NC. This would be your main home (assume a family) so no condo in OC that you would rent ! I also would restrict this to bay/river/sound side so no ocean side places. I would like to hear your opinions on where you would buy the place. To me the main considerations are:

1. Saltwater fishing opportunities throughout the year. (boat or shorebound)
2. bugs and weather
3. quality of life (neighborhood, taxes etc) sorry guys but #3 is why I did not even put NJ on the list.

I haven't done a lot of work on this but I would think somewhere on ESVA from Onancock and below. I don't know enough about the Pamlico sound or Albermarle sound to choose those ... this is why I am posing the question.

thanks

How often do you come down my way? I am like 5 minutes from the water. The only bad part about waterfront down there is that it is mostly swampy and buggy ... those green head monsters love that marsh!

my wife's family are originally from Pocomoke and mine are from accomack Va so i stop at the Crifield pier or hit the saxis island shore line or pier when we visit which is usually 4 or 5 time a year.

In NC, any house that you could locate on the waterway with a large deck would be awesome (my dream home as well). I have a friend who has a dock next to Figure Eight bridge, and it always produces fish. If I could pick a location, it would be on one of the coastal counties north of New Hanover Co. (Wilmington, NC) on the waterway and preferably close to a structure, like a bridge. Plus being in the waterway, you could kayak the small creeks and coves near your land without any trouble. Just my 2 cents, d@mn I need to win the lottery!

Cheers,

I've been meaning to visit Saxis but still have not. Next time you are rolling down this way give me a heads up and maybe we can fish one of these local areas!
