Verizon Fios

Anybody got FIOS? I just signed up and got their bundle package for 99 dollars. It includes high speed internet, phone and TV. All on fiber optic cables... nice thing about this is, everything will be on the same bill.

Yep, and the internet is fast as heck. It's been a lot more reliable than the cable connection I used to have.

nice. I have Cox for internet and they have been flaky with the modem...

My phone provider SunRocket is going out of business so I need to switch fast.

I am hoping my Verizon Wing gizmo comes in soon so I can switch before they shut off my line (and number).

The phone service attached to FIOS is Voice Over ATM while their "Wing" is similar to Sunrocket and Vonage (Voice Over IP). This means that you will not be able to take the box with you. Whenever we go out of town for a week for work, we used to take our Sunrocket Gizmo with us. So we had a phoneline where ever we could find an internet connection. I don't like using my cell phone for the various work related conference calls. :rolleyes:

My brother is using his Vonage box in Korea while he's stationed there. Local MD number and he can talk to his girlfriend (or the rest of us) without long distance charges, phone cards, etc.

The nice thing about the VoATM is that it has a battery built-in. So if you lose power, the phone line still works.

only negative about verizon fios when it comes to the tv you have to have that lunker of a box for each set you have. Other then that it's awesome.
