daughter recently spent a month in England -- & visited France as well -- if you are in England you are paying in POUNDS - everywhere else takes Euros -- i don't know why Great Britain didn't go to Euros.
edit -- Rockhopper beat me to it & he surely knows what is what on this

That's because the Brits didn't want to lose the economic edge that they have had for years. While the economically weaker countries, such as Italy (c'mon, when you have to count in the 10,000s to pay for milk . . . ) immediately benefited by switching to the Euro, others, such as Germany, was hit hard having to compensate for the first group.

I personally think the Eurpean "Union" should really be called a loose "Confederacy" or just "Loose". :D

England only just got picture ID's. Let's just say the English are very proud of being English and really don't want to lose any identity they have left after it became an American tourist resort, complete with all the fast food and all. Hope this doesn't stir up to many people, but I do hold a Bristish passport so I reckon I'm allowed to have this view. And yes I am here, and the fishing is much better :fishing:

I am English and very proud of the fact, I am also a saltwater angler and love the ocean, none more than the strip known as the English channel, that 16miles of water that keep Europe apart from our island. I dont say this to offend anyone but I have never classed the UK as being part of Europe and I do feel (like many others) that we are nearer to the United States than we are to the French or anyone else in Europe.

Amen to the Great British Pound....long may it survive;) ;) ;)

Tom,

You must be feeling better; sounding a little fiesty. Jeanne mentioned you called yesterday. I was out of town on business.

Come over Oct. so we can fish the "Matanzas Channel". If we don't get an active hurricane season along here (knock on wood), the Fall run could be a real dandy!

Cheers
