Hello out there. I am new to this forum. I love to fish but am used to the Rocky Mountains and mountain trout. I don't understand much about salt water fishing yet but want to learn. Is this site only for saltwater fishing? Is there anything out there for fresh water fishermen in Virginia? Thanks.

Welcome. I have been here a while, but haven't posted much. I have seen lots of stuff concerning freshwater fishinhg in VA. PM me if there is anything specific you may want to know. I have info on Northeren VA and some info on Southern VA (Lake Gaston and Kerr Lake).

Thanks, BlakSpyda. I'll probably have a few questions for later but it is past my bedtime and I'm gonna crash. Rgds...

Welcome to the insanity.
As for fresh vs salt...freshwater's fun, but it's a lot more fun fishing for the big salty bruisers that'll consider the freshwater catch of the day bait!:D

Lxndrtg........Come down to Virginia Beach over the next couple week ends, and I'll turn you onto to "speckled trout". They are just starteing to show in force.
I have an extra kayak too, if you want to go fish the grass beds for them.

Thanks for your replies all! J Lannon, Virginia Beach is one of my family's favorite visiting places and I'll consult them about maybe coming down there real soon. They can browse the shops and I can try my hand at catchin' some fish. I'll be in touch.
