Does anyone know where I can buy magnets that would be the correct size for my Penn Jigmasters and 545? I live in Virginia Beach, but I didn't want to drive all over town trying to find them.

Thank you.

they will be hard to find ... most guys on here buy theirs from lee valley tools online .... real cheap ... buy the rare earth magnets and cups to fit them ... the Jig master will use 3/8" magnets ... you'll need several for the JM I put six in mine .... the 545 will probably take the 3/8" too

the cups will make the magnets even stronger ... click on woodworking and the magnets are in that section

How many do you need? I've got quite a few 4mm x 1mm rare earth (4lb pull strength) chrome plated mags. If you want, I can put a few into the mail for you. :)

Hmm...I put four magnets in my JM and had to take one out. I have three now and it is great. I do not use the cups. I glued washers to the sideplate and the mags sit on the washers.

It all depends on the size line you use, the amount of weight your casting, side to side setting of the spool, and your casting style. Luckily, with the JG, easy sideplate removal and easy to remove magnets. Once you get it honed in, you are set (well, unless you change the weight, your line, or it's really windy).

just make sure you get rare earth magnets and 3/8 x 1/8 should be the right size for that reel
