I have look every where for a frog tongue weight mold so I can make my own. I called Frank and Frans because I know he makes his own to sale and no one could tell me where to buy one. So now I.m asking everybody here if anyone knows please let me know where.

Shawn Collins will make you a custom one for about $150.00. They are next to impossible to find.

IIRC, Shawn Collins would be the only person that sells those as he's the person that makes them based on Frank's design.

$150/ mold
$0.15/oz of poured lead
$1.20/8oz frog tongue...I generally dont use them unless 10 wont hold so....
$1.50/10oz frog tongue
=100 frog tongues before you pay for it... I use/lose MAYBE 2-3 (frog tongues) a trip
3 trips a year
9 frog tongues a year worst case. Didnt use any in may. So as little as 2 or 3 a year
100/9 per year= 11 years before it pays for itsself at this rate.
I do make sinkers for other people, just generally at the expense of their own lead. So..... you do the math that I haven't done.
For most fishermen it probably would pay for itsself a lot quicker though.

I think it is worth it if you can get a group of anglers together to share the cost and time of pouring. I still can't figure why our group did not go through with our frog tongue purchase ... I would have contributed to the cost of the mold. Maybe the sputniks were substituted instead of the frog tongue. Maybe we will get one in the future.

That is some good accounting but what if you poured your 100 weights or however many you need for the rest of your life and then just sold the mold. If it is in Good condition you could get between 100-125 for it then the cost of the mold would only be like $25 and that is very reasonable. But it is still all about inittial investment. I guess it would be about the same as getting a group together to purchase one and sharing the cost but this way you wouldnt have to wait untill you found enough people who were interested you could just get it use it and then sell it.

Yeah personally I love them and use them in all sizes because I think they are just a little bit more aero-dynamic than your standard pyramid.

$135 for four different sizes is pretty good. I will make a deal If someone wants to get the mold and send it to me I will pour them a hundred pounds in what ever sizes they want of weights.

I ordered mine in Mid August (like the 13th) and just got it in the mail on Monday so don't hold your breathe waiting.
I haven't done any pours with mine yet but it is 100% quality in the construction.

If anybody is going to pour a quantity of them, then sell their mold...pm me. I have several hundred pounds of lead earmarked for surf weights and just waiting on a good mold. Picked up my first frog tongue last Fall and liked it alot, so was going to have a mold made.
