Need some help

Ok heres the deal. I am a shore fisherman well at least now since I got rid of my bass boat. My brother in-law wants me to go out on his boat this weekned to fish. But he really doesn't know what he is doing. we plan on being out on the ches. bay north of the bay bridge. I am not good if I am not fishing off the beach or around structure. I really don't know how to attack fishing in the middle of the water with no strucure. I know about under water holes and piles ....but can some one from the area lead me in the right direction. Thanks

I would take your bass rods and 3 basic lures: bucktail, topwater and bassassins on jig heads. Look at a chart, find the contours & jig the contours. Find the points, work the topwaters over the points. You can use bait on fishfinder rigs too. Always keep a lookout for birds working. Try to time your fishing during a moving tide. You get the picture. FYI, guys that know how to bass fish can work the bridge better than anyone.

I think sunset is the best time, regardless of tide.
