There's another forum - that gets - maybe a couple dozen posts a week - they've just started this Spelling Hall of Shame to put people's posts who have bad spelling. I think if someone's post is so bad gramatcially that you can't understand it - you move on to the next one. You don't put the guy down for it. Especially if you are looking to grow your site. What's your opinion?

I think if you know the guy/gal you can tease him especially if you know they can do better but ultimately everyone should try to help each other out to be better grammatically. Eventually some of these people will have kids and the schools aren't teaching them how to write and read  (J/K) We all have room to improve and we should all strive to do so.

I was an English major in college, so I go nuts reading posts on the Net. It's amazing looking at some pretty well put together websites only to notice the bad grammar and/or spelling.

The thing that gets under my skin is when a post is full of the "internet lingo" and when people spell things wrong or don't capitalize on purpose.

I just skip over that stuff...the tough part for me used to be the acronyms. That read like chineese to me.

I would rather be forced to listen in on a Barry Manilow music marathon than to read a post which uses horrible grammar. Here's a hint; if you don't know how to spell the word, just refrain from using it!
Sincerely,

Actually if you don't know how to spell the word look it up and learn! Enrich your vocabulary on at least a weekly if not daily basis.
And there is nothing wrong with listening to Barry Manilow  At least the ladies tell me so

or you could use Mozilla Firefox with a built in spell check... it won't write a correct sentence for you but it'll sure tell you what you spelled wrong... :D

Grammar and punctuation tip number one: Not every word needs a "quotation" mark around it. This should be used to indicate that text is a quotation.

I could give a shit less how a guy speaks or spells. Are you people going to sit here and judge people by thier grammer, typing skills, or thier spelling? Mayby some of you should be hanging out at the MENSA website instead of P&S.

Wow, nice work, is Mensa hiring? j/k, but Rockfish1 has a great point, I use Mozilla Firefox and it automatically underlines in red when you spell something wrong, helps me out a lot, give it a try folks.

Sometimes its ok to dumb it down. Fishing forum would be one of those times. You don't got to have good grammer and spelling, long as you got the mojo.
Now if'n yer talking about saving the planet, well that's very different.
