come Oct. 22 @ 2:30 I will have arthroscopic surgery on my right knee. Got a torn midicus and an arthritic spur.
Can barely walk around the house, can't do my normal outdoor chores and can't fish.
Wish me luck.

Sorry to hear about the upcoming operation. Has my left knee scoped a few years ago for a torn meniscus and it healed up really well. Real important to do all the follow up physical therapy. You'll do great and be fishing again soon. Keepin you in prayer.

Been there done it and when a man cant fish it hurts to friggen bad,,, do as the Doc says and keep it up and ICED. Don't be a dummy like me and think Ohhh it feels fine so let me walk :(
It took a while longer for mine to heal right cause yup I was a dummy and after a while it got stronger after I took the brace off.
Do as the Doc says and get all the pitty ya can while ya can at home cause it don't last long

Hey Orest,
We must be thinking alike because I just made the decision to have mine replaced:rolleyes:
I been feeling sorry for myself because I walk like a zombie (wife's description) from the pain. I'm planning to have the right knee replaced.
As for your surgery do as instructed and don't forget the ice. Did anyone tell you to use ice. The arthritic bone spurs usually bleed alot once removed so keep it elevated and use plenty of ice. And don't let the pain meds wear off. You'll be very sorry if ya do. It is a heck of a shock to go from a deep restful sleep straight into a moaning, homicidal maniac. Keep it iced:D:D:D
I'm speaking as a veteran of soon to be double digit knee operations.
I'll be keeping you in prayer.

What Shooter said. Do EVERYTHING the Doc says and you'll be back out there in no time. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sounds like you had the exact same thing I had (short of bone spur). I had a sports related medial meniscus tear in my left knee in 2004. They cut away 55% of it and I was in therapy within 2 days and full rehab by week 5 (light jogging and light leg weights). It was a good thing the rehab is quick too because I went hiking all over the Andes mountains by week 6! You'll be good as new in no time and feeling 100% better for it. Right now the swelling and weak, sliding, unstable, sensation in your knee must be a pain (literal and figurative). I remember the first time I walked easily after surgery it was awesome.
So good luck and here's to a quick recovery. Enjoy the pain pills, they go great with beer.:D
