No way. Not of all time. He's up there in the Top 10. But not the greatest.
IMHO-
I like my quarterbacks to be down to earth and have a sense of humor. Not look/act like they came from a Abercrombie catalog.
Plus for me the whole Billacheat thing ruins the whole greatness of the Pats for me. I think they're playing like they are this
year because they all feel as if they have something to prove.

Out of my top 10 I would rate Brady 5 or 6. Marino, elway, bradshaw,Farve, and Montana are all above him.

Namath??? I don't think his numbers come close. Sure he won 1 superbowl. More interceptions than TDs. A gawdy QB rating of 65. And a braggart to boot.

He is not the best of all time. He probably can be if he keeps it up.
I would rather just keep him on the " DAMN GOOD" list for now.
You just heard this from a PATS fan.

Here's the breakdown for you FnC.
Brady is currently first by your account. 2.33 years+2.5% for each ring. :D

Would you prefer he have his pants pulled down to his bung-hole, and his hat turned to the side with the price tag still attached? I know one thing he has championship rings to wear with whatever wardrobe he decides on.

No not really. It's my IMHO and IMHO I prefer a Montana, Favre, Bradshaw, Elway type quarterback. Down to earth, at home and respects the game.
Sure he has championship rings. But they are now tainted. You can tell me all damn day that the Pats turned in every single video used to win football games and that not a single video they had didn't include thier superbowl seasons. Bottom line is I still won't believe you.

he is. He's probably going to go down as the greatest EVER. Look at his record. Look at his winning percentage. Look at how many game winning drives he engineered. This coming from a Jets fan.

I think if you take Namath out of that list I will agree they are the greatest, I just don't think Namath did enough over a long enough time to be considered in the group, and it is hard and almost impossible to compare QB's of different times because the game has changed so much. Also think you need to consider more than just stats like field/team leadership, also QB's of the 50's and 60's called thier own plays whereas today almost none of them do except for maybe Manning. Just my 2cents worth:beer::beer:

Considering Field/Team/Leadership is so very subjective. Hard to quantify - especially since we don't know what goes on in the locker room or on the practice field.

Brady is already the greatest. Look close at his W/L record and #of superbowl wins.
That's what I'm talkin' about Oki!!!! Hard numbers. The goal of any QB is to win the SuperBowl, bottom line. Sure, he wants to get paid, but in the end, we don't remember QBs for the number of TDs, winning games, etc. They don't wanna be known as the the "Greatest to never win a ring".
If he keeps it up, Brady will be the ALL TIME GREATEST QB to have played in professional football, period.
Favre is great, love the "down home" attitude he brings to the game, and the respect he has earned. Most wins I think now and the most TDs? Something like that. He'll probably go to the HOF, but in the end, he only has 1 ring???
Gotta give respect to Brady . . . though I hate his rugged good looks and player like charm he has :D

Forget the hype. Forget the wins/loss. Forget the ratings.
Take the number of SuperBowl rings divided by the number of years in the league. That should be the bottom line number. Minimum 2 rings.
I didn't do the math . . . so who's the greatest? I guess we're gonna have to wait till Brady retires to figure it out.
so that means Marino is one of the worst qb's of all time :confused::confused::confused:
i think your formula is flawed, what about a quarter back that wins 6 super-bowl rings, but has never thrown the ball. or ever time he does its a big fat pickle?
i know the scenario is unlikely but it blows holes it your theory.
you have to look at sooo much more than 2 numbers!!!

I think some of you may be missing the points, Brady and Manning are both being compared to the greats.
Just the honor of being mentioned with Unitas, Montana, and some of the others, is some thing very special.
I think Brady and Manning both are great to watch run a offense. We are priviledged to have them in such a weak quarterback era. (excluding Farve). Even if you dont care for the teams they play for.
My favorate of all time is Steve Grogan, and he wont get to the HOF, unless he breaks in. But he was the toughest SOB ever to play the position.

he's not the best yet, but he probably will be before its over. This is the first year he's had decent receivers, look at what his receivers have done at other teams. Like Randy Moss said, Peyton Manning has had his receivers, now Tom Brady has his. If you look at his numbers this year with good receivers, they are out of this world. He's the best in the game now, and will probably be remembered as the best ever when he's done.

Has every one forgotten Slingin' Sammy Baugh?
Tom Brady is a GREAT quarterback. Look what he has achieved in just his first few years. If he stays healthy and plays until he is 38+ his numbers will be astonishing. I would not put him as the greatest though at least not yet.
Also as far as super bowl rings go it takes a team to win a super bowl not just a quarterback.

Man she ain't bad but she ain't all that. Her face is too chiseled and she is way too tall (ok I am a vertically challenged at 5'8"). I'd take Selma Hayek over her in a heart beat.
As far as being a quarterback goes ... he is awesome ... however I do not condone procreation of children without marriage. Yeah call my a$$ old fashioned but I believe the biggest problem with our kids these days is 35% are illegitimate and do not get a solid family foundation and nurturing. All this ADHD crap .... ahhh never mind it's too late to get on this soap box. I just hope he marries this girl now that she is supposedly pregnant too. Too many kids growing up in broken/single parent homes. Heck many kids with 2 parents still suffer as both parents need to work in many households. All right I'll shut up.
