The $100 million dollar man is under INCREDIBLE pressure. Game 7 - win and in. Gotta earn that paycheck. Wonder what Sox fans are thinking and will say if he loses?

Go TRIBE!!!

If he pitches the way he pitched in his last 2 starts Cleveland is in the series.

GO TRIBE:beer::popcorn::beer::popcorn:

For the life of me I can't see how you'd translate his first name into Dice-K. Datsuzaka.

I absolutely hate baseball, but I always get fascinated with playoff games. I think I watched the Sox game just because I wanted to figure out what Dice-K's real name was . . . which by the way is one of the better nicknames out there :D

I think his real name is Daisuke Matsuzaka.

Daisuke = Dice and if my baseball knowledge is working, K = strike out.

As I've been told, that's actually how his name is pronounced. Dais-(u-silent)-ke. Cleveland has no reason to be down. They had a great season and played with a lot of class. With that pitching staff (most locked up til 2010) they'll be tough for a long time.

He finally delivered last night.........I gotta admit, he was the last pitcher that I wanted to see start last night.

Come on, F&C, you knew you watched the game because you wanted to cheer for the Sox since Oki, Fishbait and I are huge Sox fans. Well, Oki and I are, but FB just likes himself some JDM baseball players.

Anyways, when the Sox first signed him, people were calling him D-Mat. That's the worse nickname in the world. I think Bill Simmons, a great ESPN writer and lifelong Sox fan made a plea for everyone to call him something else. What do you do w/ Mats? You step of them, so for a pitcher, it's got to be the worse name ever. And yes, Dice-K is much better. He did deliver last night, but like the young Indian staff, had he lost, you just have to chalk it up to inexperience. Cleveland has two of the best pitchers outside of anyone named Josh Beckett, but the two pitched 4 times and were 0-3 with a no decision. I think Cleveland is built around some really good, young core players, and will be a force to contend with for a long long time. Congrats on making it this far, but for now, GO SOX!!

Wow. I think this is the first time I've posted in the lounge.

Thanks,
Chump

Absolutely!!! They'll be back there. Sabbathia and Carmona both got good experience, and next time around, they'll be a lot more prepared.

They are hot. Winners of 21 out of 22 games and 10 in a row including playoffs. I'm definitely nervous about it. That and they took 2 out of 3 from us in Fenway, including a win over Beckett, outscoring us 20-5 in the 3 game series. I'm definitely nervous. That and we lose Youks when we get to CO due to the National League not having a DL. Youks batted .500 in the ALCS including 3 homers, so he'll definitely be missed. He can also play his minor league position, which is 3rd base, but how do you take out the guy that led your team in RBIs in Lowell? You can't. Maybe he can play RF for JD Drew. Afterall, you can't sit out Ortiz. EVER.

When the Yankees had the Sox down 3 games on '04, it all started to come together with this play http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/dd252/pullin12s/THEsteal.jpg?t=1193094184

Kind of like the momentum swing last night when the Indians 3rd base coach held up Kenny Loften. From there I think Boston smelled blood in the water. Cleveland played well though.

BRJ and JP,

I watched every single game of that series, and I think I shaved off a few years to my life that week. Games 4 and 5 combined for nearly 12 hours of baseball in something like a 25 hour span. I was a mess that week. I actually bought and downloaded game 4 from mlb.com and watch it all the time still. Yep, GO SOX!!

Thanks,
Chump

And when they're old and hurting, they'll become a Baltimore Oriole before anyone realizes that they're old and hurting.
