Just by chance I saw that chemical light sticks are apparently used on long lines then looked further at these :

It seems like a good idea for catching squid, maybe for other night feeding fish also.

Has anyone tried them?

I’ve used them for a couple of species. Off shore, I used 6” ones while fishing for swords. In fresh water, I use the small 1 ½" ones when crappie fishing.

Cheapest I found are here. http://www.berniesglowsticks.com/index.aspHaven't ordered any yet, but I'm about to. Don't know the quality, though. I did find a cheaper place (but not by much) however they are out of stock on the 1 1/2 " sticks. This site: http://www.illuminationz.com/products.asp?cat_id=2

I use them offshore night fishing deep for swords and squid.. At night on the beach i use a smaller one to watch the tip.. Since I can't hear the bell at all.

Looks like its worth getting some.

Anyone know if the cheaper lightsticks last as long as the more expensive ones?
