Got my 5000 ups yesterday, getting ready to fill with line and the spool has a angle on the lip. How much line do I put on? To the start of the taper of the angle or to the outer lip of the spool?:confused:

The taper is designed to help with reducing drag as the line comes off the spool, thus increasing distance.

I usually judge it from the outer lip of the spool when filling it up.

i spool it all the way upto where the spool lip makes an angle.

what kind of clip and knot is that? it looks like you can slip the clip off the knot but remain in place when there is tension. looks very nice to use... thanks!

breakaway spin links. knot is a 6 turn double uni knot.

the breakaway spin links are very useful to me. everytime i change lures or leaders all i need to do is fasten in the swivel of my leaders.

When i go fishing, especially when i use clam as bait, i have 2 rigs of hi lo, the first rig is casted out, the second rig is already baited- all i need to do is retrieve my casted rig, take it out from the spiun link and snap in the already baited one. makes it faster and convenient ratehr that retrieving the rig and baiting it, it saves time. i never lost a fish on the spin links.

thats awesome...thanks! i think this would be perfect for me as i hate even tying on my snap swivel when i get to the beach. now i could keep that knot at the end of the line and just slip on the clip! :)
