How Do Ya'll Set The DRAG On Ya'lls REEL'S? I Personally Don't Set It. Too an Exact #. I've heard of people useing Scales. What if your Doing it Solo? Can You Mess up a Reel Do'in This? What's a Good # Too set a Reel at? I Know Every Reel's Diffrent! If you had Too set the DRAG on all your combo's. What Would be A Good # Setting? Is it even necessary Too Do This?

set the drag to 1/3rd the strength of your line.

i set my drag thru feel. and adjust/tighten it along the way or if when the fish continues to peel off line.

Do it by feel, on a reel to reel basis.

Just set it loose enough a fish can't pull your rod outta the spike/rod holder or over the rail, and add pressure as needed once the fight is on.

There is NO magic number, and using a scale is just plain rediculous...:D

I set it as loose as I can without the current taking it.

When the fight is on I slowly increase the drag until the fish stops running or I feel its too tight and my line might break.

I also tend to loosen it up just a bit when the fish is at shore break. I had too many fish just snap me off when they decided to run one last time.

Once I get my shock(casting) leader onto the reel the drag gets locked down and the fish yanked in on the next incoming wave.

I keep mine loose... Just tight enough to keep it from losing line.
I want the fish to be able to pick up the bait and swim away with it with very little resistance.
