As the Fireman for the WBB, and a volunteer firefighter in PG county, here is my PSA for the year.
Be careful with Christmas trees. Count to 45... 45 seconds is not a whole heck of a lot of time to do much....
I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season!
Jeff

Nope ... a semi dry pine will go up like it was doused in gasoline. We have bonfires in the winter after Christmas and I used to toss my tree on top but I do not anymore. That thing (6' tree) caused a flame that went up 20+ feet and was kissing some overhanging branches. Nothing happened that time.

Pitch is what makes a Pine go up like that highly flammable but good for water proofing

nope that was just a dry tree... not flamable liquids were added. I put one in a burn barrel once, was one of those drunken moments,
Someone said Jeff go get some firewood. I shoved this 6' dry and very dead tree in the barell, the flames went up about 30 feet. and it was a little toasty. Good Times...

I think the bunny burst into flames at 40 seconds in.

Fortunately, (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), we didn't get a tree this year. With an 11 month old crawling around everywhere, not such a good idea.
