The Final Cut with Robin Williams.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - Jim Carrey.

Wife thinks these two movies were pretty good mostly because they were original ideas. I'd have to agree. Though I could have not seen Final cut and not missed anything. The the Eternal Sunshine...thought it was actually really good. Another movie that was surprising in that it didn't last in theaters long but had the best fight scenes I've ever seen was Equillibruim with Christian Bael. Which he actually did before Batman Returns. If you haven't seen Equillibruim, it's a must see. I bet you'll add it to your collection.

I know this is an old thread, but it was started before I joined and I just found it. . .

Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, and Event Horizon.

Good ones!

How about Bubba Ho-Tep? Ossie(sp?) Davis: "I'm thinkin' with sand here." And, of course, Bruce Campbell as Elvis: "Don't **** with the King, baby." HEHEHE

Mulholland Drive was bizarre, too, as is pretty much anything Lynch does. Love Lynch's stuff.

I loved Bubba Ho Tep; the best treatment of Elvis I've seen in a movie ever. JFK to.

Ravenous is kind of out there.

If you want truly bizarre...howabout 'Kull the Conqueror'? I mean, a pre-history hack and slash movie with bad 80's hairband heavy metal music? Acting so bad that it makes Jack Palance look like Laurence Oliveir? Only movie I ever walked out of. So did half the audience come to think of it <LOL>.

The kitchen arm wraslin scene in gummo was priceless.

I dont know about bizzare per say but my absolute favorite movie of all time has got to be "The life aquatic with steve zissou". Its bill murray as this oddball oceanographer who is on a hunt for the shark that ate his friend esteban. After second thought it is a very bizarre movie. If your a fisherman i would suggest to watch this one.

SGT, I haven't seen The Life Aquatic, but I imdb'd it. It looks like some of the same folks from The Royal Tenenbaums, which I did like. I will have to check it out.

wolf, I haven't seen Ravenous, but I imdb'd it, too. I'll check it out, too. I'll steer clear of Kull. hehehe

Lost Highway was out there, too.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Oh man, I haven't thought of that movie in a long time.

I also liked No Country and V for Vendetta! I haven't seen Brazil, but I liked The Boys from Brazil with Peck and Olivier.

Rocky Horror Picture Show at a drive in

far away second

Blazing Saddles

Define bizzare

cause the dead at winterland on the big screen was bizzar, but then us deadheads are known for mind altering

wait that could have been the reason Rocky Horror and Blazing Saddles seemed bizzare

If you like the royal tenenbaums you will definitely love life aquatic. It has the same type of cinematography using real bright colors to add to the mood, same type of humor as well. Both were made by director wes anderson. He also has a couple more but they werent as good, Bottle rocket might be an exception. And like you said he generally uses the same actors in all of his films. Bill murray, luke and owen wilson ect...

Donnie Darko was pretty wild... "Big Phish" was an absolutely tremendous movie and I think everyone should see it. "Hero" was pretty awesome as well. I'll post more when I think of them...
