Not Looking for Issues

I've left another fishing chat board due to the hate and constant bickering that is caused by a few people. If anyone else had the same experience then they know what I'm talking about.

I'm not looking to cause spill over from that site but had a question. I'm not looking for that non-sense and was wondering if it happens here also. Seen a few screen names that are exactly the same as on the other board. Just want to know before I spend any time here.

We get a little "Man Drama" once in a while, but the Mod's are really good about cleaning up and out when needed.

As one of the kids said one time, " one of my bestest places" is right here.

Welcome to the insanity! :D You wouldn't have had come from Stripersurf, would ya? ;) But, to answer your question, we do sometimes bust each other's balls and get into never ending debates over stuff, but it's all in good fun. Most of us meet up and fish together regularly, and I've made a lot of good friends here. So, enjoy your stay, feel free to ask questions (but try the "search" function first ;)), and be prepared to join the fun! :)

Thanks. I'm getting a good feeling already as my post has been up a while, viewed by several and not a single negative comment. This would not have been the case at that other "place." Nice to see civilty still exists where an occassional drama is okay, maybe a few commedies and avoid the tragedies.

I'm not into shock and awe, just the facts or supportable opinion, and if the opinion is not mainstream then that's okay with me as long as it's rooted to something (e.g., not into Hale Bopp opinions, but guess I can respect even that non-sense.) But don't get the wrong idea, I'm more than happy to hear discussion about astronomy.

Mono vs. braid. I used braid many years ago and liked it, have PowerPro on my 4500BR on a 12 foot TICA UEHA, great rod, sweet set up, also like mono and have 15 and 20 pound of Yo on my Daiwa 6500 on a 15 foot rod (extra spool comes with the reel so that's all the difference.) Looked into pricing an extra spool for the BR but didn't get far since it probably makes more sense to have a second reel. Planning my next set up probably for next year, options to date are a Penn 525 mag or Daiwa Sealine (not sure on size, maybe 600 or 450) but not decided yet, likely a 9 foot Ocean Master, still undecided. Braid has advantages and mono has them as well, both have downsides. Guess it's more about the intended purpose. Sorry but this is one of those things where I can't give a yes or no, more defined position.

No problem at this site. Thanks for the owner and the Mods; they’re very good at remove the haters. I hope, I'm not violation this forum rules by saying few words here.....
My name was probably one of few screen name you seen. I did post the very short sentences objection over people was out of control in "China Food Poll" thread and immediately got personal attack, name called, vulgar, by original poster, the personal attach post was deleted with in minutes, and later the guy admitted, he just back from the party and was drunk and didn’t read through out (he on probation list now)
The china food's poll was deleted few hours later, because too many haters, this is the ugliest thread ever in public forum.
I was totally floor to see those threads brought out so many haters.
From now on SOL will notorious for those incidents.
Anyway lesson learned.

BTW braid/mono and spinning/coventional are favorite one, dead horses but keep coming back :D

Maybe it's okay to make an occasional bang on SoL. But, IMO, probably better to let by gones be by gones, I'm not interested in SoL, not in the least, they can have their nasty scene. That China thread is one among many, search Native American, and many others. Anyone with religion is attacked. Attacks on family values. Notice the ethnicity poll, etc. Alot of hate, more than enough to go around. Some of the major haters were "promoted" to moderators. Frankly we ought to avoid any mention because they may decide to come here and start a bunch of noise and we're here because we don't want to be there with them.

BTW: They are elitists who think that all others are amatuers and low level thinkers. I suppose even a fool is entitled to his opinion.

We're pretty mild over here and I think that's what sets us apart from the other boards out there. We're a family oriented site, basically, if you wouldn't want your kids to see it, don't post it here.

I read, and post on a couple other boards and I see stuff all the time that will never fly here.

Several of the how-to posts are awesome. I'm thinking I'm gonna like this place. Been considering making my own plugs...as soon as all the home rehab projects are done (and I can throw the circular saw, impact drill, and nail gun over the hill.)

Ya seem like a nice guy so as long as you don't stir the pot. P&S will be what you are looking for.

We also don't want any man-drama spilled over from the"other site".

This site is a great way to increase your general knowledge about surf / pier / jetty / kayak fishing. Please share your fishing reports and anything pertinent regarding fishing tackle and fishing advice. I hope this site encourages you to be a better and complete angler.

I also hope this site provides you "life long" shore bound angling friends.....

This advice is not only directed to you but to all our regular and new members.
