Just wondered if y'all had given any thought to making any for next year and what they might be. For me, I have a few:

1. Stop smoking (make this one every year:D)
2. Master surf casting (enrolled in class starting 12 January)
3. Start catching more of my own bait instead of buying so much.
4. Do more fishing with plugs/lures/jigs, etc.
5. Do more shark fishing.
6. Figure out how to get my 113HN Baha Special loaded with 80 lb PP to throw past the 2d sandbar from the pier to use as an anchor rod (see 5 above)
7. Get my motorcycle license (should have carried over my endorsement from WV)
8. Develop a knobby mag system for the Jigmasters and Squidders.
9. Befriend someone with a what I think is called a CAD/CAM system and a machine shop and see about making sideplates, frames, etc ala the old Accurate plates. (Have to check patents, etc, here)
10. And last, but not least, stop taking life so seriously and enjoy myself now that I am retired! :D

Congrats on your retirement! But stay active!

Don't have any resolutions personally.

Stop smoking
Stop drinking
Stop over thinking

OK so I went to the bar and thought about everything while I had a few beers and puffed a pack.

Next year I resolve to not make any resolutions and fish more. :fishing:

Terry, get them credits it will make a difference in your life. I got my BA at 29, MBA at 40, retired from the state at 48 and now I have a nice job and don't need to worry about how much I make ($). Daughter just finished nursing school, she's 32 and her husband was just accepted into an MBA program, he's 32 too. The point is to keep moving forward, you're young don't sit still because others with less talent will pass you by. We've never met but we've done business and I can tell that you've got talent and the drive to use that talent.
Just my .02, Philly Jack

My wife and I have both agreed we're going to go all the way through Master's degrees. On top of just being a good thing to do, we wanted to set an example for our son and set the example that education is important. My wife has a B.A. now and is working on a B.S. in Computer Science. I'm doing the same, but I've already been in the IT industry for 12 years. Thank you for the kinds words. :) I'm going to try to make a trip south during your vacation to get together and try to catch some fish! :D

Quitting smoking is the first, and since they are taxing it to death then no issue, guess it's white knuckles or a trip to the GP to get a script of some miracle. Darndest habit, wish I listened about starting.

Finish all the projects around the house without thinking up new ones.

Spend more time having fun and not working.

Spend more time thinking about the work that could have been done when having fun.

Congrat. on your retirement

I got only one, same old one for every new year's resolution. By the year end only finished half of it. Then start all over again...

My new years resolution is to decide what I am going to do for my life. In May, I graduate from Virginia Wesleyan a year early. That sounded well and good until I decided that my life plan for years (law school) does not look as fun as once thought. Now, I am entering panic mode as to what career path I will follow. Maybe Masters? Maybe Doctorate eventually? Who knows. If I can solve this dilemna, I will have the best year of my life. That is truly all I want with my New Year

Start a part time guiding business (nights & weekends as I work full time). Not so much for the $$$, but more for the satisfaction of showing folks around. We shall see...insuring that operation is a b#tch financially.

1.Stop posting topics that are already running.
2. Maybe stop smoking. That'll save money for more:beer:
3. Get divorce/custody over and done with.

-catch 6 drum this spring, no less....
-catch a cobia over 60lbs.
-beach a 300+lb toothy.
-catch a king in a kayak in VA waters
-become a much better caster, and learn technique for once instead of just crushin it.

Make no mistake, jhmorgan, there is NOTHING fun about 3 years of law school. It is an absolute grind. I just graduated from Wake Forest Law School in May '07, so I know what I'm talking about. ;)

Now, I am entering panic mode as to what career path I will follow. Maybe Masters? Maybe Doctorate eventually?

Just take your time and figure out what it is that you like to do before going after any ol' masters or doctorate (gotta love that Juris Doctor, though).

Best of luck to you.
