Forgive the newbie question, but what is a darter?

They look like a swimmer but smaller and usually have a hump in them with a small lip. When fished they usually dive about a foot and move side to side like walking the dog...:fishing: If I can I'll post a pic of one..

Northern Striper fishermen ( and recently some southern) use slightly bigger lures and still call them darters..Here is SOL's lure list:
