I just got off the phone with the nice guys at **********, and he informed me that they won't be ordering anymore WRI rods. They said that the WRI rods haven't been big sellers for them. He also said they will stop with the Batson Blanks as well. From what he said he has an agreement with the makers of the CTS blanks, and they are in the process of creating three blanks for them 2-4oz, 4-6oz and 6-8oz. They will be priced in the WRI,AFAW price range, and from what he said will flat out smoke all the competition. With all that being said has anyone ever casted a CTS?

Do you know if they will be putting the other blanks on sale then?

Wow! They're getting out of the Batson business. I need to call those guys!
Edit: Oh, and yes, I have casted a CTS blank. I have absolutely no idea the model number, but it was 13' and rated for 8+. I found it a bit stiff and hard to load. It had coasters on it and the guides taped on. It seemed a bit heavy as well. The guy who owns the blank is on this board, maybe he'll chime in.

I've known a litltle bit about the development of the new CTS line for ahwile, not sure when they will be available to the public. THese rods should not be confused with the Makoi line of CTS rods, which I believe a few people may have.

Mark, any idea when the actual cutoff is for getting RS blanks from them? I haven't been up there in quite a while and haven't talked to Ray in ages.

Are they going to advertise the sale on the site or just for call-in orders? Hell, I need to just call them...lol.

I was in the shop for a few minutes last Saturday, talked a little bit , but they didn't mention they were discontining those other lines, might need to get back down there and see what is left, hate to see them stop with the WRI stuff, I liked being able to pick it up locally to avoid shipping costs.

I got the best price on RS blanks through them, and I could skip shipping. All good things eventually come to and end I suppose.
What strikes me as funny is I wonder if they sell that many CTS blanks. I doubt they sell enough to drop Batson. Does this mean all the Batson components are going away as well? They've been a Batson Mega-Distributor for a long time, I can't see any sense in them dropping Batson.

You ain't kidding. I've heard some pretty awesome review for both WRI and AFAW. I'd have to see it to believe it.

Check your PM's mate. Guess one of the mods yanked the name out.

You can also setup a wholesale account if you have a tax ID and business license. They take care of you. ;)

OK, I had the blank I was talking about there confused with a different one. The CTS was super light, not heavy at all. Everything else still applies though. Stiff as a brick stick but it'll throw a lot of lead.

They cast very well. I have the first 605 and 405 that arrived on the mainland before anyone had ever heard of them. They will outcast anythng about anything out there.
