Hi all and thanks in advance. I've heard two differing trains of thoughts:
1) the bigger fish do not successfuly spawn therfore harvesting is OK.
2) the bigger fish do spawn and should be left to replenish due to they produce more eggs.
I've spent a bit of time IE searching and as of yet come up with no scientific data either way.
Thanks again, Tim

I would think they not only produce more eggs, but have the potential to pass on their genetic size to their offspring.

The older females run out of eggs just like human females. Stripers online or Striper Surf will have the details. Not sure of the age/size this happens but it would be well over 40 inches.
