It's time to do my inventory, and this year is even more pressing. Last year I combined all of my good rigs, plugs and metal into a nice little compact tackle box. Had both of my children on the shore, was leaving the beach in late August with one complaining and the other complaining that the other clamp up, we were all hungry and worn from being on the beach all day. My son lost the tackle box on the way back and I missed that he had let it fall off his boogie board. Needless to say I have to replace this after inventorying what I have in my big box.
Is there an on-line store here on P&S where I can look over the various options to pull together another baseline of terminal gear? Can a package be pulled together or is it pick each item?
Thanks

In all honesty you should sit down for a few hours look at some catalogs either online or in book form and make a list of what you need. I have 3 tackle boxes at the moment and each one has different needs. You probably will find what you need spread across a few online stores. It really depends on what you are looking for.
Once you make a list of what you use then you can always refer back to this list in the future.
This is a great winter project!

Sounds like you need a roadtrip to Cabela's or Bass Pro

Don't discount eBay as well especially if you need bulk and you know what you want.

Maybe get a few buddies together and try to buy in bulk. My WBB brothers were in Cabelas the other night and saw a bunch of things on clearance. I wanted to buy the whole store. But yes, when you can't fish, go browse the aisles of your favorite fishing store, and just drool and/or buy.

Don't forget lots of tackle shops are getting ready to start clearance sales as they try to unload old tackles.
Also, look out for fishing flea markets in winter time.
1- I have been going to the Pasadena flea market for years and stock up on sinkers and whatever dudads I can find.
2- There is a flea market at the PG county (Equestrian Center, I think)

The last thing you want to do on any type of budget is to be forced into going to a tackle store ... Forgot something at home , change of plans ect ..
For example this year we went for stripers at IRI and for whatever reason we stayed for the morning tog bite but didnt have anything in the way of gear ... 4 Blackfish rigs , 2 qts greenies , 1 qt sandfleas , 1 pack of hooks and assorted lead ... over 40 bucks .. :( So either that or go home get geared up and hope the spot isnt taken . Your choice of course ... WE fished ;)
Anyhow you'll come acrossed deals everywhere before spring so keep an eye out . Some kind of list is a great idea .
Places to look .. Flea Markets , Tackle Shops , E-bay , online stores , And one that I can never do myself as it seems I am always fishing on those days but is an excellent place to find great deals on fishing tackle ... Fishing EXPO's . There are quite a few .
Look for "Spring" deals ... blowouts .. reduced and clearance .
I got these from Bill's Sports Shops annual Flea Market (usually early April) for 50 bucks (all NIB)

My friend Keith went to an Expo in NJ and picked these up for 20 bucks with box ..

Keith was kind enough to give me some teasers a few weeks ago and said some were only 3 for a buck at that Expo .. They are pretty nice and most like them are well over 2 bucks a piece anyplace else ..
I was at the Old Inlet Bait Shop in November and liek always they had a clearance section where I found some dark green Calcutta Swimbaits . I was looking for black but then again I never seen black (solid) before and was looking for something close . At that time I found the bite to be on the darkest colors . Green worked well and lasted about an hour before I was left with 1 and only bought a "trial" pack .
Went home after fishing and Drew and I came up with this ...

I am sure we all have some swimbaits that seldom see water for whatever reason so take a permanent marker and color those unused swimbaits BLACK ..
Just a tip to save you some money if you have some unused colors laying about :)
Getting good deals on tackle can be like fishing .. You still got to get out and about to land a keeper :)
Those boxes contain some of what I lost last summer. Such a bummer to loose years of lure collecting.... I have to stop myself from screaming. But the rebuilt collection will be better than the first!
Just to get an idea of what everyone thinks, let's here what you consider to be the top five, must have lures, plugs, rigs, or whatever.

Some of the items on my list are Diiachi circle hooks, huricanne weights, top and bottom rigs. Deadly Dicks with squid strips. Mustad hooks for clam. Yozuri lures. Mega Baits (the big ones). And I wish I knew the name of these two glass, mirrowed lures that I picked up in the Carolinas years ago...they we're fantastic.
