What's the best way to use Mirrolures in the surf? Do you need to get them out past the breakers or do you fish them right in the breakers/wash? or both?

Depending on the structure all three but the breakers and wash work best.

I agree with Digger, depends on the structure. If there's an outsuck, sometimes it works to let the outsuck pull the lure around. A lot times you won't really need to do much with the lure other than small twitches every now and then for a fish to hit them. They're rapidly becoming my favorite lure.

works well parallel to the breakers, right in the trough.

we fished them in the breakers, used the watermelon and a bronzish color.

I would like to try them out next year in the surf and other places. How do I determine which size to use? I am not too familiar with them.

You can't go wrong with a 52MR or TTR. 84 and 94 MR's are good for topwater if bigger fish are around and are busting the surface (i.e., stripers busting bait on the surface). Almost all of their baits that are in first two categories are 3.5"-4" in length and 1/2 oz.

Are mirrolures strictly top water then?

late march thru aprill sandbridge beach, specks not little ones either, mirror lure cant go wrong .look for light chop with a green water.tore em up past couple years, funny thing is nobody is trying to fish for em then.just look for little cuts in beach, most of the time catch em in first dropoff, little flounder and schoolie stripers, stargazers(searobins)ugly things i dont know what they are really in the mix too.

I found a 52M19 Mirrolure in the wash one day and put it on. I caugght all kind of fish; Spanish, Blues, Ladyfish; you name it. I finally lost it to something big.

I know they work but need something heavier. When are they going to bring back the 85M? C2
