Punta Cana Fishing

I am going down to Punta Cana Dominican Republic around June 1 to de-stress and drink pina colados. I want to fish two days. Has anyone on Pier and Surf had good or bad experiences there. I am hoping that billfish are there. Good boats/captains, marinas, reasonable charter costs, resort pickup and delievery etc, thank you guys.

I've never been to Punta Cana - just had to cancel due to wifey being pregnant. However, I did get hussled down in St. Lucia (a little further south) when I booked an off-shore trip. After a complete bust and the most lack luster of efforts by the Captain and First Mate - I made a complaint through the "excursion desk". I was on my honeymoon at a 5-star resort and used their service to book this outing.

Needless to say - for my money, we saw 0 fish. Not necessarly the boats fault but the trip was worthless.

After a complaint was made, I spoke with another couple who had the same gripe from earlier in the week.

I get the feeling that when you go to a lot of these "touristy" locales, you get to deal with people who are simply trying to get your buck.
