Guys;

What is the general opinion here of the Coastal Conservation Assoc.

There website says they are composed of Saltwater fishermen on the Atlantic and Gulf Coast and advocate conservation from the fisherman's side.

Here is their web link, give me some thoughts on this, should I join or not/

I will be renewing this spring. Organizations are only as good as it's members and the best way to change directions is from the inside. I wish I had more time to work with them.

The reason I say that is some people bust on them. And they just sit outside and talk. But they do listen to their members and the boat guys listen to the shore guys.

There is a lot of mixed reactions to them from fishermen.

Well I was ready to blast them again and say something to the effect that when I see them doing something for the shore bound angler I would possibly change my mind about CCA. And then Digger posted this CCA alert on the Va board. I guess I have been overly critical of them.

I would suggest anybody in the NN area to attend at least one RFAB meeting. And you may be surprised what they have helped with. It is neat to look at the projects that have been done and how the rules are decided.

They have done a lot of good for the Rec. fisherman.

I'll eat my crow as well. I can honestly say from what I've been involved in thus far, I haven't seen CCA or a rep there, but the more I read the more I see that they are helping. Digger when do they have these meetings?

On the Gulf Coast,(Texas)you probaly don't ever want to say CCA and red grouper in the same sentence.
