Recieved one from a buddy to clean and replace the drag, its a Penn 4/0. The motor and mounting bracket has been removed, all thats left is the little cap on the bridge that the motor hooks to. Does this thing unscrew from the bridge, or do I need to drive the pin out of it and it'll come off? Thanks in advance........

I have no idea, but Mike's Reel Repair might have a schematic.

Not sure what you mean here. Am I to assume this was a Penn 113 or 113H that had an electric motor attached? Also, by "bridge", do you actually mean the plate (called "bridge" in the schematic) inside the right side plate to which are attached the gear sleeve, dog and spring, or are you referring to something else? Regardless, to replace the drags, you need only to remove the main gear which should slide right off the shaft on the older models, pop them out, inspect and replace as necessary. Give me a bigger hint and I can probably help you out. Larry

I called up Anthony Ng at Precision Auto Reels and figured it out. I meant the gear sleeve, instead of the bridge......I've been a little scatterbrained of late. Anyway though, as it turns out the electric motor's drive hooks up to an attachment that screws into the top of the gear sleeve, where the bolt that normally secures the handle goes in. The way it was set up, there appeared to be a pin that could be driven out of said attachment (this pin is actually to supply leverage to unscrew the attachment). I was not sure if the electric reel modification utilized a modified gear sleeve that would make use of such a pin, hence my confusion. I had tried simply unscrewing the thing right off, but it was rusted into place and there was no way of applying oil......Had to modify a socket wrench to get it loose. Anyway, thanks for the help guys, and sorry I wasn't more clear with my dilemma.
