would you take the lump sum 164 million?
would you take the payout out for the next 20+ years?
what would you do with all that money?


After wiping out all of my debts. Quiting my job and helping some close people start a church. I think I would take a year and chase some of the game fish this world has to offer.

Striper in the Vineyard, Drum at the Point, Snook in the Bayou, Tarpon in the Keys, Roosters in Meheeco, The big fins in carrib,
halibut in seahawk land, Salmon in the last frontier, Peacock's in the Amazon and the great barramundi down under. Many more I can't think of.

I think you've lived a great life to be able to pull these suckers out of the water.

Then I would invest as much as possible.

what would you do ?

Me, I would take the lump sum. After that,

1-make sure my daughter is set for life.

2- wipe out debt, me and BossDogg's

3-Buy my primary residence in Colorado or
Montana and a vacation home somehwere from the OBX to the keys.

4-Buy my H1 Hummer.

5-Take some fishing trips to catch my wish list of fish.

6- I would still work, probably in the fishing and hunting field.

I would take the lump sum, and I would probably do the same things I do now, drink beer and fish. Only with all that money, I would drink better beer.

After the usual paying off debt, leaving work, take the family on some awesome vacation, I'd probably have one of the terrific rod makers here on this board make me the hottest, baddest field casting rod you could buy. Then I'd pair that up with one of the sweet reels usually found in the marketplace. Then I'd go out somewhere and let it rip......about 75-80 yards!:eek:

I'd give some away right off the bat. OBPA would get a few million to help fight to keep the beaches open, as would NCBBA. I'd buy a house in Hatteras and pack the family up and off we'd go. I'd continue to go to school and finish my degrees while living in Hatteras and then go from there. Of course I'd have a new beach buggy and some other toys in the process.

1 main reason why! If something would happen to me, my family would get to keep the left over. If I had the annuity option those payments would stop when I was put 6ft under!

Of course pay off all my debt, buy a good beach vehicle with a nice camper on it, Equipment nicely for fishing. Buy a vacation house down south and nice boat!

Probably wouldn't change too much, I am pretty sure I would still work until I got fired for telling people what I really think of them.

Buy a Lil Doublewide with about 5 acres, enough for a nice Garden plot, yard, a few fruit trees, grapevines for Homemade wine..
Set up a Menger account that would provide Me interest too live on, something like a couple hundred bucks.
Buy small fishing boat/truck...

BIG Ticket Item.........
Build My Own Ocean Front Fishing Pier outta concrete, lay lotsa fishballs around it...

Donate it too the Public of North Carolina..

Say 2 dollar Maint. fee for the pier to fish..

Here's an off beat idea..
Take annuity over 30 yrs and try to buy 15-20 mile stretch of beach in OBX and declare it off limits to Peta and the likes..for surf fishin' only (no bird, whale, turtle watching allowed)..and of course a few million to OBPA:beer::D;)

Pay off bills, buy the boat that I want, retire again, take wife to alaska for a couple weeks. She has always wanted to go there and I would like to try the fishing and hunting there. Invest some. and put the rest in some sort of savings.

Was talking about last time... already figured it out. The usual paying off debt, families debt, and setting up my parents and sisters. Figure they could live pretty well with $2 million each after being debt free. Plus their kids would be set. with trust funds.

$2-3 million in stocks/bonds/other investments
I'd buy a few strip malls and maybe some land to develop (houses, apartments, etc)
I dont want to be one of those people who spends all the money unwisely and ends up in debt 3 years from now!

and a nice ice cold six pack of Miller Lite.
Balance would go into several savings/money markets/accounts.

Peewee hit it RIGHT on the head! I would set my family up, my friends up, and the first random person that asked me how I'm doing, I'd set them up! Than pay off debt, donate mad money to OBPA, then buy a marina, fish all day every day and drink beer till I pass out; then do it allllllll again!!!!
