What makes them so special? What kind of fishing are they used for and with what kind of rig? I've used them on Bogue Inlet pier at EI, after paying some unGodly amount of money for just a few. I put them on a dropper, then tried a fishfinder and the pinfish just swiped them. I gave that up and went back to squid.

Spot love bloodworms and croakers do too. Go for the bloodworm fishbites, they're about $7 for a bag.

yeah second that i never use real blood worms anymore since i always just use bloodworm fish bites, they work just as good and you can catch a couple fish on a tiny piece of FB becuase it stays on the hook since it has mesh inside of it.

And the fishbites doesn't die or spoil. You can keep the stuff for years and it still works. I've tested Fishbites against real bloodworms several times and in each instance, the Fishbites caught as well if not better than the real bloodworms.

But real bloods are the ticket for early cold water stripers. Here in the Chesapeake bay real blood worms are what we shore bound anglers use. They just always work. Fishbites do work, and they are great once the water warms up, but for the spring run there is no replacement. I haven't tried the cold water fomula yet.

yep. most of the BWFB are warm water... For a few reasons the bloods, there are some big juicy ones, check out he pictures from Bayfisher, they are bigger than a pencil.. can get 2-4 good pieces of bait from one worm.
I use them when targeting rockfish. they love em. Others will work at them, like croakers and the pesky White Perch. If the bait stealers are in force, I'll use smaller pieces or back it up with a BWFB...for over $12 a dozen in some places, not the type of bait you want to waste.
Now for other areas where you are in OH, use what ever works....I like to have a few other baits with me when fishing, you know just in case.

I would like to add that I have caught whiting, pompano, spots, croaker, sharptail eel, trout, bluefish, small shark (1 to 2 ft) and one gigantic skate (wingspan of at least 4ft) using fishbite bloodworms..I only used about 1/2 inch pieces...These fish were caught on a pier..I lost 2 rods and sandspike using the same on the beach..I have switched to live bait on the surf and use the fishbites rarely since the fish I caught using the live bait were alot bigger and the fishbites are expensive....:fishing: happy fishing!

I said I used them at Emerald Isle. I'll forgive the comprehension error, with the MI connection and all.

I have no idea where Emerald is, just sounded like a lakeside area...use fishbites when you want...temps don't seem to mater...good luck...shrimp, cutbait, etc...use what is not being used...good luck :fishing:
