To win the tournament you first needed to obtain 25 hook-ups to qualify. After you had 25 hook-ups we took your average from the total Blacktips you caught and divided that by your total hook-ups. The person who has the highest average wins the tournament. There is also a prize awarded to the angler who caught the largest Blacktip shark. Other prizes are awarded to the anglers who catch the largest Bull, Hammerhead, Lemon, and/or Tiger shark.

The Winner of the 1st Annual Blacktip Challenge is Zach Meyer with an average 0.920. Zach has won a custom trophy and 500yds of 100lb PowerPro

The trophy will have the Blacktip Challenge logo on it and Zachs name. It will be his to keep.
The largest confirmed Blacktip shark that was caught was by Mike Palmer (Sharkman42). The shark was 6' 5" (77inches) in length. The shark was estimated between 125-130lbs. Mike will receive 500yds of 100lb PowerPro.

There are too many pictures and it exceeds the limit of characters.
Overall the tournament turned out excellent and will be back next year bigger and better! I will try to get the Blacktip Challenge on T.V. for next year.
