I use 17# sufix tri on all of my surf set-ups that I use mono on (braid for spinning) and I use 30# Berkley big game on my boat reels that I use for diamond jigging (4-6oz) for bass and blues on party boats. I like the fact that it is tough and still is soft enough to cast well. These are 30shv's. Should I try, 30# sufix this year on these reels? Is the 30# too stiff to be castable? Keep in mind that I have to "swing" most blues and even occasionally a keeper sized bass if the gaff is occupied. What should i spool up with this year on my boat reels? Tri or BG?
if the BBG is good. id just stick too it.
BBG is very durable especially the larger lines IMO.

The momoi diamond hi catch (is this the one?) sounds pretty good if it is castable. I need the right balance between castability which is often critical on PB's in order to be the first to the fish and to reach those fish breaking on top that are constantly on the move. Plus, the up to 200% greater than stated breaking strength sounds good so that I can swing with more confidence. I use tough rods in these conditions (composite fiberglass) and I know their limits. This is what cabelas says about it.
"Momoi's Diamond series lines are constructed with a new formulation that offers tensile strengths up to 200% of stated line tests. It has a tougher finish for greater abrasion-resistance in extreme conditions and delivers exceptional knot strength."
