It has gone through the roof.. Cheverly Sports wants 40 cents an ounce. Anglers wants 35 cents an ounce. Wasnt it 18-20 cents an ounce not long ago?? I know what the 2 owners told me, does anyone on Pier and Surf know the REAL REASON, I mean excuse on this increase on the price of lead.
The price of gas sickens me, if the lead poisoning doesnt kill me, the price will. HELP**

I can relate to your pain. I have recently started buying from Brad & Son's Tackle on Ebay. Good prices and better service.

Bass Pro = $4.90/each for 8 oz spider weights. $4.40 for 6 oz.

The price of a lot of metals has gone thru the roof lately. In the fishing industry lead and stainless steel price increases may push prices even higher.

Yup, prices of all metal has gone nuts. I buy a lot of Alum. and the place I buy from will not hold any price from one day to the next and if I ain't careful if I call that morning and get there late it may have gone up.

Luckily my dad's best friend has a few hundred 1/2 lb. ingots he poured up. He doesn't use them anymore so I get a few every now and then when I need them. If I start pouring 6 oz. weights he might start charging me for them though, lol. :D

I assume he means our troops overseas, but they use FMJ bullets, the core may be lead but the outside is a copper/nickel/other stuff mix.
We do mold our own .357/.38, .44 and .45 bullets though, dirt cheap and accuracy isn't that important with pistol ammo that you just want to shoot...
