Sad News From the Kentucky Derby

[Southern Man]

Eight Bells the first Filly to run the Derby since 1999.
Went down after crossing the wire with a second place finish. She had broken both of her front ankles and had to be euthanized on the track.
Very sad the Girl ran her heart out.

what a run...that filly had the heart...they need to look into breeding or something...can't just breed fast, they have to be strong also...

I'm surprised that the "Dark Side" hasn't hauled horse breeders into court to shut that down yet. After that tragedy yesterday, it shouldn't take Peta and others too long to seek some sort of injunction!

PETA, i'll tell you what I think about PETA, i am a Person Eating Tasty Animals...... just like them to stick their noses where they do not belong, I'll be willing to bet they are backing the bill to get ORV access to the Outer Banks restricted as well.

It is sad when ever a beautiful animal like that has to be put down but you know that those idiots would get involved. They would not miss a chance like this.
