It 's certainly gonna revamp things for me.
Prevent me from fishin? no
Change how far I travel to fish? no
Make me fish less often? maybe
Carpool with others to fish? possibly
Take up basket weaving? while very theraputic, I doubt it.
Jump off a bridge? nope, no body loves me more than me.:D:D
Stay married or get divorced? been there and did both.
Make me eat brussel sprouts? I would eat my toe nails first......:--|:--|:--|

fish less ? No. thank god i live 5 minutes away from a great pier. and less then a few minutes from good inshore(drum/trout) fishing.
will it affect me traveling to go fish? without a doubt. 4$ a gallon for regular is looking like it could happen , and even my small truck is gonna suck to go anywhere...
thankfully i only have to travel 3 miles each way to work.
still sucks, and in the next year or so, im thinkin hard on purchasing a 4cyl car, with a roof rack for rods/kayak.

Give up fishing? Heck no. My life has only 4 phases: eating, sleeping, working, and fishing. The working is so that I can ensure that I can be eating, sleeping and fishing at my pleasure. However, the working can be considered only to support the fishing, as Uncle Sugar will step in and take care of my sleeping and eating if I can't be working :D

I'll never stop fishing. Gas can be 10 bucks a gallon and I'll hike my a$$ over the dunes and fish all day everyday. People fished long before gasoline engines were around...

It will most certainly take away 2-3 weekend trips this summer, its just too expensive for me to spend $3.50-4.00 per gallon in a 2000 XJ at about 20 mpg on the hwy. I'm willing to bet that by Memorial day weekend many of us in the Southeast will see 3.75-4.00 for regular gas, its disgusting.

I'm still gonna' go fishing somewhere:):fishing:
Time to start the first Pier and Surf Bike Crew. ..............Wild hogz with pedal bikes?
Meet up at a rally point and roll 4-5 people deep to the fishing spot. Hook that Pier cart to the back of your 10 speed and pedal down to the honey holes.

Not prevent me from Fishing but will limit me to my area. The gas prices definitely limits how often I fish in the OBX and I would be willing to carpool with other fisherman. I haven't taken up basket-weaving but it's a skill I'd like to know from just using natural raw materials.
Never jumped from a bridge, nor considered it or ever seen it happen outside of a movie. I would stay married and hate brussel sprouts.

Stop me....No
Make me think more about where I fish...yes
Make me think more about doing more fresh water fishing .....yes
I have a f150 extended cab and get around 18 miles to gallon.
I cannot take the car as it gets 12 mpg 14 on a good day.

If I lived that close to a great fishin spot, I'd be contacting Shooter about making me a cooler rack for a Segway!

I live seven blocks from NB Pier, 8 miles from Breezy point and approx 25 miles from PAX NAS. I am not far from SPSP so I do notplan to do a lot of driving to fish.

Gas prices have seriously put a dent in my fishing, only made two trips after shad and one to the bay so far.

Oil was over $123 a barrel yesterday. The prices are going higher boys! Buy your gas now while it's still cheap!:D
I drive an F250 diesel that gets 16mpg if I'm not towing. I'm doing a lot more freshwater fishing right around home and my saltwater trips will be limited both in distance traveled and number of trips. There'll be no OBX trips this year.

Rising gas prices:
Will it stop you from going to work...NO
Will it stop you from going to buy groceries..NO
Will it stop you from going to the Dr...NO
Will it stop you from cutting your grass...NO
Will it cut down on the trips to the tackle store to drool over the latest and greatest tackle...Yes
So why would you let it stop you from living life and doing the things you enjoy as a family or buy yourself. If we completely stop the Oil Co. win.
I for one am not rich but I have not cancelled any planned trips and will still make the suicide runs. I will though plan better to maximize the time I do spend away from home this summer.

Wife and I talked it over and no trips. Vacation will be at home and fishing.
Putting the Camaro up for sale next month.
Plan right I we will make it.
Breezy point, spsp, and pax will probably be the places that I mostly fish this year.
