I buried this in comment to Druminthesuds...
Here's something else. I've seen many Canadian geese nesting here in Maryland this year. Something has changed because I've not seen this as frequently before this year.
Read on and check the video later: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=c59_1210161244
Clearly that fisherman did everything correctly yet some would complain that he shouldn't have been there to begin with...just wonder how many bird watchers have had similar instances that they may deny.
Despite it being well known that geese come back to their birth place, we've got some setting up nests in our parking lot. The, predominantly female management, has decided to set cones around them so that noone parks next to the nest and they can stay and have gooslings. Suppose the whole place will be overrun with geese soon.... just wanna know when they'll be closing work because of the geese? A wholesale closure of the country because of those of a feather...Hitchcock and The Birds!!
But on the other hand, when it comes to golf that's another thing. Get rid of them birds on our golf course and do it now danngggiittt! See http://wjz.com/local/Geese.Canada.Geese.2.419092.html
Now I wonder how many plovers are setting up shop on golf courses and whether that bird protectors are after that too? Nahh, they play golf after an outing of bird watching.
Is this getting to complicated? Nope, it IS the issue.
Now I'm just waiting for one of them geese to think that a woman walking by in a dress is a net about to be placed upon it and the bird goes to protect itself by going . . . (well, this is a family-oriented board... I'll skip the graphic details....you get the point....)
The birds are doing what they need to do to survive. ANYONE WHO BREAKS THE BARRIER IS ASKING FOR CLOSURES. GET THE MESSAGE!!
The elite are doing what they want and they want more golf courses...especially on the OBX.
I'm asking that ya'all understand, whether it's rational or not, and dispense of the land grab idea. This can be won but there will be changes.
